CHALLENGE: The first idea
The first idea you think of is seldom the best idea. Next time you need to solve a problem set aside a meaningful amount of time to ideate as many ideas as you can.
CREATE: Define the problem
Get used to defining problems. Take an issue your team is currently working on. Define the issue in a few sentences or less. Get your colleagues to do the same. Are you all on the same page? How much clarity do you all have on what exactly the problem is?
CHANGE: Don’t defend prototypes
Received feedback from an end user on the usability of your prototype? It can be tempting to jump in to defend your prototype and demonstrate how great it is. Fight this urge and instead ask questions to understand more and gather feedback on what would make it better.
