In this interactive course participants are tasked with building out a valuation model which automatically flags investment decisions based upon NPV/IRR analysis.

The model contains sensitivity analysis and the ability to solve for a property valuation which targets a certain MIRR (since investment cash flows depend on property initial property value).

The hands on exercise introduces individuals to a range of Excel intermediate skills.

Create and use defined names in a workbook

Use decision metrics to determine the values required to reach a desired result

Use a range of functions and features to produce charts
Select and change the format of objects in a chart

Building out the model with discipline: Cell Styles
Decision Metrics: NPV, IRR, MIRR
Conditional Formatting: Cell rules
What-if Analysis > Goal Seek: Value the Property using any target MIRR. Data Tables – sensitivity analysis
Workbook and Sheet Protection: Locked, Hidden Cells
Excel analytics basics
System familiarity: toolbars, formula bar, settings
Conditional formatting, cut, copy, paste, insert
Taking a large .csv file of price data
Formulae and referencing. Basic mathematical functions
Functions including logical, text, database, lookup, pivot tables and their uses in finance
All based on the systems and functions expected of first year Analysts
Producing table and charts
Building simple valuation models.
