At Alpha we fully #EmbraceEquity in our workplace – we promote gender equality through providing equal opportunities, diversity and true inclusion.

We are committed to creating an open and supportive culture and we are passionate about how we can make positive change both within the company and with our clients.
In 2022 we launched our Menopause Policy. It includes all those working for us, be they employees, contractors, volunteers, interns and apprentices and seeks to provide support for anyone finding it difficult to work because of menopausal symptoms. We work with individuals to ensure they receive the right level of support adjustments that may be needed to reach equal outcomes. This is one example of how we want to remove barriers so that women within our organisation can equally participate and perform to the best of their abilities.
We work hard to ensure there are equitable opportunities for individuals notwithstanding their gender and this is reflected in our previous 12 month recruitment drive. Our new starters across the globe have been an exact split between 50% men and 50% women. We will continue to explore how we can support women to progress their careers as the business grows.
We are committed to making positive change outside of our business too. In 2021 we launched Build Your Future Training Programme in Singapore as part of our corporate giving initiative. The 4-month programme covered 6 learning courses designed to help 28 Singapore-based, female, foreign domestic workers, aged 34 to 52, who, in traditional set-ups, would have limited opportunities in personal and financial growth.
Our training enabled these women develop their communication and interpersonal skills, understand finance management, and enhance their entrepreneurship skills. Following the course, they were invited to use their learnings to present their business plans to a group of business professionals.
“It’s amazing to see the impact this training session has had on participants. Personal development, understanding financial management, and using design thinking methods to support business communication and overall decision-making, can have life-changing effects,” Programme Manager at Alpha Development.
Alpha was incredibly honoured to have been recognised by the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) in Singapore as a Champion of Good 2022 for this initiative.
Because equity isn’t just a nice-to-have, it’s a must-have.
For #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2023 and beyond, let’s all fully #EmbraceEquity.
