Ambitious Cultural Re-Set program for the whole firm, from C-Suite to new hires

A leading Wall Street investment bank

Client Objectives

With over 50% of employees newly hired since 2020, in 2023 our client recognized that the pandemic had resulted in some loss of the firm’s traditional culture. After an in-depth audit of company culture, they saw the need for a firmwide cultural re-set for 27,000 employees globally – from Associate to MD.

Our Solution

We worked with the client on the delivery of a series of workshops to explore the role each employee plays in shaping the firm’s culture – in practice. Principally delivered by senior leaders, enabled by the design to act effectively as the consistent voice of the firm. Each session was also co-facilitated by a member of Alpha’s leadership faculty.

This was a complex project for our client – 27,000 participants, many senior leaders delivering including C-Suite, across 170 workshops in 20 global cities. Key to success was for our client to outsource project management to Alpha’s experienced program support team for end-to-end delivery.

Success for our Client

Firm-wide surveys have shown that:

  • the workshops have been instrumental in building awareness of how culture drives organizational performance and is essential for executing the firm’s strategy.
  • the articulation and appreciation of a shared culture has helped bridge the generation gap between senior management and staff new to the bank.

Senior leadership reported that they were able to re-engage with staff across all levels of the business and re-establish the values and culture that are key to its success.

Why Alpha?

Our decade-long partnership delivering large-scale flagship programs gave the client confidence that our global faculty would deliver with highest credibility, immersed in the firm’s culture, and that our program team would manage complex logistics at scale.

Client Quote

“I just got off the phone with [COO for Global Banking & Markets], our senior sponsor for Culture Connect. She had a very positive experience leading the Bengaluru session with your trainer – kindly share the recognition”. MD, Exec Office.
