- Human-centred AI adoption · Financial services
AI ambition is high.
Workforce adoption is uneven.
Some people are confident experimenters. Many are cautious, or quietly resistant. In regulated environments, uncertainty either slows adoption down – or pushes it into the shadows. AURA measures the human capability shift that decides which one happens.
50%
of managers cite navigation – not motivation – as the primary barrier to using AI.
24%
rate their organisation’s AI usage policies as clear at entry.
5-8%
of teams are embedding AI into shared workflows.
97%
identified an immediate, practical AI use case after targeted learning.

saved per year by one team’s first embedded use case.

- Alpha's point of view
The hidden adoption gap is human.
AI strategy is often clear at the top, but adoption gets fragile closer to real work. The challenge is rarely a lack of interest – it’s a lack of confidence, clarity and behavioural structure. Adoption isn’t just about learning the tool. It’s about redefining how people think, decide, collaborate and create value with it.

- The diagnostic
AURA. AI Use Readiness & Adoption.
AURA looks beyond tool access. It measures the human conditions that determine whether AI adoption becomes safe, confident, embedded and valuable – in a regulated, client-driven environment.
AURA isn't a piece of software. It's a set of questions, a validated methodology, and expert analysis - delivered however your organisation needs it.
1. Survey & scoring
A structured diagnostic instrument, calibrated across six human capabilities.
2. Executive & team debrief
Expert-led interpretation that turns scores into a readiness narrative leaders can act on.
3. Digital platform
The clearest way to see it: live scores, role and team-level views, and movement over time.

- The AURA model
Six human capabilities. One readiness score.
What people need in order to use AI well – not just willingly.
01
AI Judgement
Thinking critically before, during and after using AI – challenging a summary before it reaches a client.
02
AI Agency
Knowing where AI adds value, and where human control has to remain in the workflow.
03
AI Confidence
Using AI as a performance enhancer, rather than experiencing it as a threat to professional expertise.
04
AI Collaboration
Using AI outputs to strengthen discussion, challenge and shared learning across a team.
05
AI Trust
Applying guardrails, disclosure norms and review standards in regulated work.
06
AI Identity
Connecting AI use to professional excellence, client value and pride in the role.

Case Study
A major North American financial services institution - from AI ambition to embedded adoption
The challenge – Executive AI ambition was outpacing manager capability. Only 5–8% had AI embedded in team workflows, and confidence in leading adoption sat at 3.3 out of 5. The blocker wasn’t motivation, it was navigation – managers were willing but had no framework to start.
The approach – An AURA diagnostic scoped the capability gap, then a SCALE programme took 130+ managers across Finance, HR, Risk, Legal and Technology from use-case discovery through to production-grade Sprint Labs.
The result – 97% identified a credible AI use case within the first module. Guardrail clarity rose +29 points across cohorts, and the pilot cohort generated £1.17M in conservative annual productivity value – a structural return, not an aspirational one.
£88M+
projected net annual value at full rollout, conservative estimate, 10,000 managers
1,600hrs
saved annually by one team, a single AI use case identified across 6 regional managers
+29 pts
guardrail clarity increased across cohorts, managers leaving with clear rules of engagement, not just skills.
